What a beautiful piece! I can completely envision all your encounters. This is Yehudis for me – never afraid of a conversation with a stranger, passed on from your mother to you, and from you to me. You have definitely inspired me 🤍
I often talk to strangers. I really resonate with the strangers knocking at my door when I don't want to talk, and I appreciate how good things can spawn from there too. Operate from love always. Love the article.
What a beautiful piece! As someone who is also entranced by the human stories of strangers, this cemented for me that the more we are curious and open to learning about others, the more we learn and understand ourselves. Marvelous essay!
I’ve read a lot of essays on Substack & this has to be one my my favourites I’ve read in a while. Your story caused me to lose track of time for those few minutes.
I remember our first chat and it went from feeling like I was talking to a stranger to feeling I was engaging someone strangely familiar. This is, without question, your superpower. Why you talk to strangers is why I read your essays. But it is a bit of misrepresentation, because no one remains a stranger for long with you.
Thank you, Rick! I promise it's true; I held my breath when I saw your comment come in, couldn't wait to see what you though about this piece. Thank you!
I love how it feels like looking through a fractured window, showing all your different encounters :) However, I was forced to leave a comment ❤️
😂😂😂

Just woke up and banged a bunch of characters on the keyboard...you know how it goes.

<3 Thank you! Looking forward to being a little less strangers to each other again.
This should be a movie. I could've kept reading on and on. So good.
Makes me feel so good. Thank you!

Thank you so much! Part of why I'd love to study psychology more one day.
Me too, Yehudis!
Wowowow Yehudis.

Loved reading this. It was like talking to a stranger!
Hopefully, by the end, everyone was a little less strange to you 💕
I'd love to do a series of random encounters and describe how some of the smallest encounters had the biggest impact on my life. Thanks for sharing <3
So beautifully written and so insightful. It touched my heart.
A fellow stranger
I love your outgoing spirit! Keep talking to strangers --- perhaps one day we will meet too!
Welcome! Thank you for joining :)
