Great story, Yehudis, though I particularly enjoy the serendipity and synchronicity of coincidence that follows along with the ritardando of your internal state. Another gem!

I meditated on this for some time. The idea that if our states fail to respect religion, then the last bastions of humanity are snuffed out. Lest we forget the power Religion can have as a counter weight to the State.

I felt like I was in the franticness of the delays then found myself in a time oasis and you recalled your encounter with these new friends.

That's what (catholic) priest Daniel Alliet did for years at the church on the Begijhofplaats in Brussel just round the corner from us. There is soo much kindness in the world.
